Bernard Berkowitz Establishes a CGA to Benefit Valley and Generate Lifetime Income

As a trusts and estate attorney, Bernard S. Berkowitz, Esq., has long recommended charitable giving options to his clients. Now, he continues to follow his own advice by establishing a charitable gift annuity (CGA) in support of The Valley Hospital Foundation.

In addition to supporting a cause he believes in, Bernard’s CGA provides tax advantages while creating a reliable income stream.

Bernard was a longtime member of the Foundation's Board of Trustees and a Lifetime Benefactor, and a CGA is just the latest in a series of steps he has taken over the years to support Valley’s mission.

“I feel it’s very important to support the outstanding medical care provided by the hospital,” he says. “This care is so important to me and for the community. I want the best possible healthcare and the best outcomes. Supporting Valley is my way of helping make this possible.”

Bernard also has deeply personal reasons for supporting Valley.

“I want to support Valley because of the great care my late wife, Rita, received during her illness,” he says. “I, too, have always received great care, and my doctors are excellent. I want to make sure I do what I can to support this for my community, as well.”

Bernard urges others to follow his example and make The Valley Hospital Foundation part of their estate plans.
